3A. AI-Powered Features & OpenAI

Lumi Money's chat feature uses OpenAI to help answer your financial questions and provide personalized guidance. When you use the chat feature, the following data may be shared with OpenAI:

  • Your chat messages and questions

  • General financial context (such as spending categories and trends) to personalize responses

The following data is never shared with OpenAI:

  • Bank login credentials

  • Full account numbers

OpenAI processes your data solely to generate responses and does not use it to train their models. Your conversations are not stored by OpenAI beyond the session. You must provide explicit consent before using the chat feature for the first time.

All other Lumi features, including spending analysis, balance forecasting, alerts, and coaching, use our own proprietary algorithms and do not send your data to any third-party AI service.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we take protection seriously.

5. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access your data
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Disconnect linked accounts at any time

6. Children’s Privacy

Lumi Money is not intended for children under 18.
